The Story
1731: Birth Born Maria Josefa Gabriela Cariño on March 19 in Santa, Ilocos Sur. She is of Spanish-Ilocano and Itneg lineage (from her father and mother respectively).
1731-1751: Youth Due to poverty, she was brought to the Church and was taken under the wing of the Spanish priest Tomas Millan.
1751-54: First Marriage Gabriela was married off by Millan to an old wealthy businessman. Her husband dies three years later.
1757: Second Marriage Gabriela marries Diego Silang. In his work for the Bishop of Vigan, he is exposed to the exploitative practices of the Spanish against Filipinos.
1762-1763: Silang Revolt Diego and Gabriela Silang were principal figures in the revolts against Spain. After her husband was assassinated, Gabriela Silang (1731-1763) became the leader of Ilocano and Itneg alliance.
1763: Final days Gabriela assumes leadership of the Ilocano and Itneg revolutionary alliance. She was captured, and on September 20 was hanged with her men in the plaza of Vigan.Description

The NGO and party list GABRIELA which advocates for women’s rights and protection is named in honor of the Filipina revolutionary. There is also the Presidential Order of Gabriela Silang, which is awarded to spouses of heads of states.

You can only return to us products which have been purchased directly through this website. If you purchased your products at our boutique, other retail store, or from another website, returns must be processed at the store in which they were purchased.
If for any reason you are not happy with our products, please follow our returns procedure, so that we can assist you in the replacement or refund of your order. We reserve the right to reject the return of products which are not returned in accordance with our returns procedure and we may request that you pay for the shipping of such products back to you unless the products are faulty, not as described or otherwise not of satisfactory quality.
Returns Procedure
In returning products, please follow the guidelines below. We reserve the right to reject any product returns if the following guidelines are not met:
- Products can only be returned within 14 days of receipt.
- Keep the original packaging. Please reuse the packaging your order was shipped in to proceed with the return.
- Please return your articles in mint condition, without them being worn or washed.
- All the packaging (plastic, boxes), accessories (glasses case), user manual must be returned and product labels must be attached to the items as sold including the original receipt.
Please contact our customer service by email: shop@ayalamuseum.org to declare the items you wish to return. We will send you a return form for you to fill up and send back to us to process your return request.
Refund
In cases of refund, your refund will be processed and paid no later than thirty (30) days after we receive the returned products from you. We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the products back from you, or you have supplied evidence that you have sent the goods back (whichever is the earliest).
