The Story

When the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) rapidly evolved from a local epidemic into a pandemic, the world was caught dead in its tracks. Movement was greatly restricted to prevent the spread of the virus, affecting governments, businesses, services, and communities. As life had to move on despite the crisis, humanity found ways to adopt to a "new normal." Filipino culture is characteristically communal. The family is regarded as the basic unit of society, rather than the individual. Many Filipinos spent the quarantine period with their families, confined to eating meals and spending time together at home while restaurants and other places of leisure were unavailable to them.
